Strator torpedo 6x4 to Switzerland
On the 25th of May this year the company Mont Alta from the village Ilanz in Switzerland celebrated its 85th anniversary. The highlight of the evening party was the unveiling of the brand new STRATOR 500 6x4. Which Martin Montalta specially ordered in honor of this anniversary at the Charles Feijts Groep in Born. At the request of the new owner the vehicle was built and transported to Switzerland in secret.
This very beautiful STRATOR is based on a TRAKKER 6x4 truck chassis with side members of 10 mm thick and a 32 ton air-suspensioned tandem. The day cab and the short wheelbase of 3.690 mm give the truck a robust appearance. The chassis is completely closed with aluminum panels for protection when loading stones and gravel. Two vertical chrome exhausts on either side of the air suspended cab complete the handsome appearance. Furthermore, a ZF automatic 16-transitional AS-tronic gearbox, a hill holder, an intarder and hub reduction. The maximum allowable combined weight of the truck is 80 tons.
Montalta Gruppe from Ilanz was founded in 1928. The company has evolved from a one-man company with horse and wagon to a leading enterprise specialized in the trading of gravel and pebbles, the exploitation of a modern plant, as well as demolition and recycling projects and transportation. The company today is run by Martin Montalta, the 3rd generation Montalta. The fleet of Montalta includes a diverse range of truck brands: Iveco, Scania, Renault and Sisu.
