On strator.nl we use cookies and similar techniques. Below you can read which ones these are, what we use them for and how to adjust your choice.
What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. Websites also use techniques that store information in your browser without a cookie being involved, such as local storage. In this policy, by “cookies” we mean both forms, because for your privacy it makes no difference.
Which cookies do we use?
Necessary cookies (always active)
These are needed to make the site work. You cannot switch them off; without these cookies the configurator does not work and we cannot remember your cookie choice.
| Name | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|
strator_consent |
Remembers which cookies you have allowed or refused | 1 year |
PHPSESSID |
Maintains your session in the configurator, so that your choices and your place in the steps are preserved | Until you close your browser |
Analytical cookies (only with your consent)
These let us measure how the site is used: which pages are visited, which steps visitors take in the configurator and where they drop off. This shows us what works and what could be better. Your IP address and browser are converted into an irreversible code, and we use the figures in aggregate, not to track you personally.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Retention period |
|---|---|---|---|
strator.vid |
Local storage | A random number with which we count repeat visits as a single visitor, without knowing who you are | Until you clear your browser storage |
strator.sid |
Session storage | Keeps track of which pages belong together within a single visit | Until you close your browser |
Marketing cookies (only with your consent)
At present we do not place any marketing cookies on strator.nl. This category appears in the banner because we may start using it in the future, for example to measure which advertisement led to a visit. As soon as that happens, you will find the cookies concerned here before they are placed.
Security via Cloudflare
All traffic to strator.nl passes through the network of Cloudflare, which protects the site against attacks and misuse. In doing so, Cloudflare may place technical cookies that are strictly necessary for that protection.
Changing your choice
When you visit our site for the first time, we ask you to make a choice. You can adjust that choice at any time via Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. If you refuse everything, we place only the necessary cookies.
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Please bear in mind that the site may then not work properly.
What we record about your choice
So that we can demonstrate that we respect your choice, we record which categories you have allowed or refused, at what time and via which button. In doing so we store an irreversible code of your IP address and browser, not that data itself. We keep this for a maximum of 24 months.
Questions?
You can read how we handle your personal data in our privacy statement. If you have a question, e-mail us at [email protected].
